Nehemiah 6:8-9  I sent him this reply: “Nothing like what you are saying is happening; you are just making it up out of your head.” They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed.” But I prayed, “Now strengthen my hands.”

Sanballat is like the discouragement of the enemy. When the enemy speaks negativity to you about who you are and what you’re capable of we should respond the way Nehemiah did:

“You’re just making it up out of your head”

The enemy is a liar and if you’re hearing thoughts of discouragement and negativity know that everything you’re hearing is a lie and the enemy is “just making it up out of (his) own head”

The enemy is trying to distract you from your work and he uses your thoughts to weaken your hands.

I like Nehemiah’s response. It isn’t “our hands were strong to do the work” but “Now strengthen my hands”

He didn’t deny the ability of the enemies words to weaken his hands but instead prayed that even if weakened that God would give strength BACK to him.

God strengthen our hands to do the work that you prepared for us. Thank you that any tongue that rises up in judgment we SHALL cast down because our righteousness comes from You.
