Psalm 32: 3-5

When I kept silent,
my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
For day and night
your hand was heavy on me;
my strength was sapped
as in the heat of summer.
Then I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess
my transgressions to the LORD.”
And you forgave
the guilt of my sin.

Sometimes we can forget how simple it is to walk with God. If you sin you will feel a separation from His love, joy, peace, hope etc but when you feel that way and know that you’ve sinned all He asks is that you confess it. Like it says in 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and lead us into all righteousness”

We are simply asked to confess it to Him. The truth is He already knows it, your confession is you recognizing that your actions caused a separation from Him and  confession creates the opportunity for Him to lead you back into right relationship with Him, which is the BEST. It truly is. Being close to Him is the greatest gift we received through the blood of Jesus.

We aren’t even asked to walk in the paths of righteousness, as if we could do it ourselves, instead he LEADS us into all righteousness, or as David says in Psalm 23:3 “He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.”

Why spend any amount of time out of good relationship with God? He is the only source that we have and there is no other. So let’s make a habit of confessing our sins quickly, and just as quickly He WILL forgive us our sins and then lead us into righteousness. Because He is faithful and just. His Son already paid the price for your sin. He paid the price so you didn’t have to and God would be unjust to punish you for something His Son already paid for. What a wonderful Savior and what a wonderful Father.

Thank You God for who You are and for loving us so much that You would give Your only Son for us.
