The Parable of Unforgiveness

Scripture – Matthew 18:35 So also my Heavenly Father will do to everyone of you if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.

Observation – Jesus tells his disciples the Kingdom effects of unforgiveness. He uses the parable of the unforgiving servant. Jesus makes it clear that unforgiveness does not allow God to settle our accounts of sin with Him on earth as it is in heaven. With Jesus blood we are forgiven of our sins in heaven, but now in order for us to experience the blessings of forgiveness on earth we MUST forgive others in our heart. And the level of unforgiveness in our hearts we have towards another is the level God allows us to experience between Him and us.

Application – I must do a periodic inventory of my heart to see if I am harboring any unforgiveness. I must keep short accounts of wrongs done to me and do what Jesus commands to make every effort to be at peace with everyone.

Prayer – Father help me to keep short accounts, lead me in all my ways of forgiveness. Show me Holy Spirit when my heart is harboring any unforgiveness. I ask Lord that You forgive me for the time I have not forgiven others. This I pray in Jesus name. Amen!
