Title – Be Silent
Scripture – Exodus 14:14 The Lord will fight for you and you have only to be silent.
Observation – Moses tells the people to fear not as the enemy is upon them and there seems to be no hope. He says be silent and the Lord will fight for you! This tells us that there are times when for God to work we must simply stop trying to guess what God will do or how God will work, we must simply just be still and stay silent! Sometimes our words can only get in the way of God’s perfect plans for us and our words can stop God’s ability to fight for us. What we speak out we let in, so we must remember after we have prayed and given over our issues over to God to be silent, listen and let him work!
Application – I will be silent when I give my problems to God and Let God speak while I listen.
Prayer – Father God, thank you for this powerful reminder that there are times for me to stay silent. Lord reveal to me when I need to be silent and simply wait on you. Show me the practical ways I can apply this truth to my life and lead me into a deeper sense of this reality that you will fight my battles in my silence before you.
In Jesus Name, Amen
