The Kingdom Center (TKC) Gabriel’s House is an Emergency shelter and Transitional Living home for women and children whose desire is to get a “hand up” to hope and a sustainable life.
Long and short-term stays allow women and their children to regain faith, life skills and resources to better their lives and those of their children. Breaking the cycle of homelessness, addictive pasts, and domestic violence enables them to gain the confidence that it takes to become the women they were meant to be. The warm household environment encourages and reinforces their efforts.
Gabriel’s House offers a home, life needs, case management and accountability to learn new patterns of trust and regain optimism for their futures and those of their children.
Up to 40 women and children live at TKC Gabriel’s House at any given time with over 80% of them able to live independently after their time at Gabriel’s House, Oxnard. 100% of women who go through the longer term Transitional Housing Program are able to exit to permanent housing.
TKC depends on organizations, businesses, churches and individuals in the community for donations and volunteers to keep the good work of helping women and children in the hardest times of their lives. We must work together to help the hurt find comfort, peace, and the relationships that will encourage and bless them while on their path to recovery and a brighter future.
Gabriel’s Cottage is part of our new Entrepreneurial Program designed to teach women how to dream again by producing art, inspiring new ideas for products to market and, often, developing their own businesses.
In our New Arts and Crafts (A&C) studio moms and kids have space to design and create as they make products to sell in Gabriel’s Cottage. Next to the A&C Dream Studio, newly designed and hand made items as well as gently used, high quality donated items are sold to benefit the families at Gabriel’s House.
